It is quite natural for people not to believe in something without any tangible proof of it. It therefore does not become unnatural for such a person to believe in something divine. It is not within the reach of the average human power to bring the Devine before the physical mind. Vision of the Divine is possible only for one who is embellished with devotion.
The divine nature of the appearance of the Divine is a great secret and it is known only to the Lord Himself and partially to devotees who might have seen His divine form. However, even those who have had vision of the Divine may not be able to describe it in any exact detail because in our daily lives, the average person cannot even describe the things which he is quite familiar with. How then can he describe the Divine? Vedas, Puranas even Shastras have not dealt with this in any exclusive manner.
The Divine by nature is always pervasive of all existences. By His might He can manifest Himself in any particular place or places therefore, it is quite rational that the Divine can come or appear in one form or another.
“Though being unborn and imperishable and the Lord of all existences, I standing over my own nature, become manifest by my Yogamaya or Divine Power.”
Those who do not understand the truth of His appearance regard Him as being born, even though He is unborn. When he conceals His divine form ignorant people think of Him to be dead, even though He is imperishable. By His own independent will, He puts on human form and appears like any ordinary mortal to those who do not know the truth.
